Most of the admin app can be driven from the keyboard: jump between sections, move through lists and records, run actions on the item in front of you, and talk to Buddy without reaching for the mouse. On Windows and Linux, read Ctrl wherever this page shows ⌘, and Alt for ⌥. The admin app shows the right keys for your system.
The shortcut help sheet, the command menu, the go-to shortcuts, and ⌘+, for settings are in Preview and rolling out gradually. Everything else on this page works for everyone, as long as your project has the feature it belongs to: ⌘+B needs Buddy (on Studio pages it explains that Buddy isn’t available there), and ⌘+⌥+N needs Studio.

See every shortcut

Press ? anywhere in the admin app, or open your user menu and choose Keyboard Shortcuts. A sheet opens on the right with the shortcuts grouped by area - General, Navigation, Lists, Records, Buddy, and so on. The sheet lists what works on the page you’re on, so it changes as you move around: the Editor group only appears while a text editor is open, for example. Type in the search field to find a shortcut by name or key, or use Show all shortcuts to see the ones that apply elsewhere too.

Command menu

Press ⌘+K to open the command menu. Start typing to find what you want to do or where you want to go:
  • Recently visited - the blocks, listings, storages, and other items you opened last. Shown until you start typing.
  • On this page and Selected - actions for the page you’re on and the item you’ve selected, such as rename, duplicate, or open the API Playground.
  • Navigate and Global actions - every section of the admin app, plus actions that work anywhere, like toggling Buddy.
  • Search results - blocks, listings, pages, trees, storages, integrations, and Studio jobs in your project that match what you typed.
Every action in the command menu that has a shortcut shows it next to its name, so the menu doubles as a way to learn them.

Anywhere in the admin app

Go to a section

Press g, then the letter for the section. Press the second key right after the first; Esc in between cancels.

Lists and items

These work on list pages such as Detail Blocks, Search Listings, Data Storages, and Integrations, and on the item you’ve focused in the list. Not every list offers every action. If an item can’t be renamed or deleted, the shortcut does nothing; the help sheet shows what applies.

Record browser

When you browse the records of a Data Storage or a Data Feed:

Buddy and chat

The same keys work in Buddy and in the chat inputs of Studio and the Experience Designer. The prompt for a new Studio job is the exception: it sends with ⌘+Enter, and Enter starts a new line.

What Esc does

Esc always closes the closest thing first. Each press steps out one level: a dialog, then whatever you’re editing, then your selection, the search or filter field, and the detail pane. When nothing is left open, Esc takes you back to the list the current page belongs to - from a Detail Block to the Detail Blocks list, for example.
